Ode to Nathan (Bransford)

Must be read aloud in a Mike Myers Scottish affected accent (So I married an Ax Murderer), while peering through a thick cloud of cigarette smoke, your beret pulled down low over one eye.

O' Nathan, My Nathan.
Such wisdom you bestow
Upon us all, so low.

Each day we breathlessly await,
to read then debate
Your every word, sincerely.
As we hope quite dearly,
that you will somehow see
how talented are we.

Funny stories, you share.
You let us tease about your hair.
'Imagine My Surprise'
is our new battle cry.
In writers circles around the 'net
We all know we're in your debt.

Without you, where would we be?
Without a captain, lost at sea.
Awash in rules and rejection,
drowning in severe dejection.
Hiding our deepest fear,
that we can't admit.
Should we even submit?

You believe and give us hope,
when we're near that end of rope.
I want to thank you,
on behalf of everyone,
for making this ride,
just a little more fun.

Please do not applaud...I prefer snapping fingers when I am in full on Poet Mode.
Happy Friday, people!!!
