Friday Flashbacks

The year is 2009. No, really. This is a flashback, remember?

It was a year of extraordinary highs and lows.

NYT Bestseller at the end of the year: The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown.
Movie that grossed the most money in USA: Transformers-Revenge of the Fallen.

The first African American President was inaugurated into office, Barack Obama.

The entertainment world lost some of its brightest stars:
Farrah Fawcett
Michael Jackson
Patrick Swayze
Brittany Murphy

Your hairstyle may have been this:

Or maybe it was more like this:

And you even took the picture with you to the hair salon but when the hyper teenager who was merrily chopping your hair off was didn't look anything like this picture!!! But I digress....

You may have worn these outfits:

Or this one:

Or maybe this one:

Lets be honest...for the guys there was only one option:

But no matter what you wore or how you styled your was ok because the style these days is whatever you feel like. We are all about expressing our individuality.

Just remember that underneath those outer layers, we are pretty much the same.

May the year 2010 bring joy and happiness to us all.

  1. Yup. No point in bringing photos to the hair stylists. They just do whatever they damn well please.

Outfit-wise, I'm closest to number 2 but not quite close enough, I suspect.

Another great Friday flashback! I hope the new year brings you joy and happiness, as well.

  2. I loved that second hairstyle but even as I looked at it, I had that same hairdresser would probably botch it! That looks like a tough one for a stylist to pull off for some reason.

  3. Awesome post Marsha. 2009 was a great year! Looking forward to 10, and the 10's on a whole. Hope they bring blessings to us all!

  4. Terry: I actually love that second outfit. I don't think I would look as cool as that girl

Stephanie:I suppose it was hard. It was six weeks ago that it happened and now my hair has grown out enough that I am not quite as bitter as before.ha

Linguista: Thank you! Happy New Year!

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
