Truer Words...

"You write in order to change the world, knowing perfectly well that you probably can't, but also knowing that literature is indispensable to the world... The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter, even by a millimeter, the way ... people look at reality, then you can change it."
-James Arthur Baldwin

Can you think of a better reason to write?

Here's to changing the world...and creating new ones.

  2. Terry: I know but if we can make people stop and think about an issue that they never had before...I'd settle for that.

  3. Yay! I am glad that someone else feels that way. I write because I have something to say, and I want the world to hear it. And I hope it can help someone, somewhere.

But then, I might just be idealist and old-fashioned.

  4. Nope, can't think of anything better. Then again, it's Monday so my thinker isn't really working in the first place. : )

  5. ...Creating new ones. I love that! I know a lot of kids read to escape. If we could give kids a place to escape to, I'd be oh so happy.

  6. Linguista:I'm an idealist too...but I try to hide it most days.ha

Kimberly: I hate Mondays. I am trying to be more positive.

L and L: Books were my escape as a child, I lived a hundred different lives. Being able to do that for someone else would be awesome.

Terry: You know I love that cynical streak!ha Making someone happy for the few hours they spend reading your book...that could change their world. I am feelin' soooo profound today.

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
