Wednesday's Word

Today's word is Jack.

You can work hard all year, pay your bills, pursue your dreams and give until it hurts. Then when the time comes to calculate whether Uncle Sam needs to draw the last drop of blood you have…you can breathe a little easier knowing you don’t have to pay more.

Meanwhile, you notice that others (who may or may not be family members) that have managed to work one month out of the year now will receive thousands of dollars from that same Uncle Sam who took from you so ruthlessly.

You realize at this point that somehow…you have just received the Jack.

And that my friends…is the Word.

Disclaimer:
This is not in any way a political statement. It is only a manifestation of our own jealousy and we plan to be over it by the weekend so we may enjoy Superbowl.

  1. lol. I'm feeling a bit like I'm getting Jack myself. Still waiting on responses from queries from agents who really do write back. I guess it's time to send a few more out there.

  2. You keep at it, T.! It is so hard to wait. I will be sending queries out at the end of this month hopefully so I feel your pain.

  3. You're lucky you get tax returns. I'm living in Japan, and I have no clue if these things apply to me or not. I've been here a year and a half and I haven't heard a thing related to it.

  5. Oh gosh, I always hold my breath a little when doing my taxes. I keep thinking if I keep chanting "No whammies! No whammies! No whammies!" then maybe I'll get a refund.

Yeah, I'll let you know how that works out for me.

  6. So true. We work so others can sit on their butts and collect our tax dollars. It's the American way.

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
