Editing Your Children

First I must impart some very important news:

The amazing, talented, and extremely funny Roecker sisters are having a blog contest over at Lisa and Laura Write. The prizes are stellar (new fav word) and you are missing out if you're not following them already! Head over there and place your bets on who is going to win their arm wrestling contest.

And now I give you a great example of why we must edit our children...and their homework.

(Here's the letter the teacher received the following day)
Dear Mrs. Jones,

I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.

I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.

From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.

Mrs. Smith

Editing is so important...in all things.

  1. I LOVED THIS!!! Makes me laugh everytime!

  2. That is so funny

    Thank you for sharing

  3. LOL! I've seen this before but still laugh at it.. every time!!LOL. :)

    Editing is very important!

  4. This has been around for a while but it emphasizes my point so perfectly!lol

  5. Kids can get you into trouble without even trying. So funny!

  6. That is funny!!! Pole dancer was my interpretation. At first I thought this was an entry in our Blogging From A to Z April Challenge. Then I realized you haven't been doing it. But it would have been an excellent submission and it was a fun post.

  7. It's amusing that the Mommy doesn't have a skirt on. Normally girl stick figures have skirts. lol

I'd never seen it before, Thanks for the laugh!

  8. Haha that's a keeper! I hope someday you'll show this to your grown-up daughter and she'll have a good laugh about it.

I found you on Stephanie Faris' blog, hope you'll stop by mine (japandamanda.blogspot.com) ^_^

  9. HILARIOUS! I've seen that before somewhere...I wonder if it was a real picture or if someone concocted the whole thing.

I tagged you on my blog today!

OMG please tell me this is real.

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
