Monday Must Reads

Over the weekend I read Wake and Fade by Lisa McMann. Now all I can say is that I am extremely disappointed and upset…because I didn’t buy the freakin’ third book!!!

My momma always taught me if you couldn’t find anything nice to say…then say nothing at all. I am happy to report I have a crap load of things to say. In the spirit of Monday (which I hate with a passion) these are all the M adjectives that best describe these books.

Marvelous
Miraculous
Magnificent
Magical
Memorable
Mesmerizing
Mind-Blowing
Made-of-Awesome

I even invented a few:

Meteorific (meteor sized terrific)
Mansational (when male mc is sensational, duh.)

It is written in third person-present tense and although it was a little strange at first, after a few pages the story takes over and it seems perfectly natural.  The writing is so tight it squeaks and I could not put them down, literally. Even after I finished, I kept them beside me and reached out to pet them once in a while.

That actually sounded less creepy in my head.

  4. OK, I linked Lisa's name to her website so you can read what the books are actually about. She does that way better than I could.lol

  5. Present tense! That's odd. I was going to write a fantasy book in first person just to shake things up a little but it wasn't working out. I can't imagine writing in present tense.

  8. I guessed mansational meant something like that. Hee! You are too funny! :) I've heard of them, but haven't read them yet. Third person, present tense, huh? Cool. And I liked your M review!
