Wednesday's Word: View

Today’s word is View.

Have you ever thought of the way in which you view the world? Some say the reason why comedians are so funny is because they can take the ordinary and twist it. It all has to do with the way they view things.

We bought my son a camera when he was five years old. It was made by Fisher Price, a 35mm and looked like this:

We let him take an entire roll of film, by himself, without guidance or direction from either of us. We were very excited to develop the roll and when it was ready, this is what we saw.

Because this was his view of the world. He was a surprisingly happy kid in spite of looking at asses and elbows all day.

The world is not perfect but everyone’s idea of perfect is different anyway. My idea of a perfect world would be a mix of peace, love, and no calorie chocolate cake. My husband’s would be no clothes, no work, and my serving him like a maid. If he had been born a few thousand years ago, he would be in heaven.

Obviously my son’s idea of perfect would probably not include being on eye level with Aunt Edna’s eighty year old butt.
So next time you are wondering what is wrong with the world today…take a moment to think about it. Is it really that bad? Or is your view?

And that, my friends, is the Word.

  4. LOL! My world view has been pretty negative today. I think I should crawl back into bed and stop looking at life through the lens of my behind. ;)
