Tuesday’s Take: Believing

Life is the killer of all belief. When we are young we know a monster lives in our closet, we don’t have to see it. Just like we know aliens exist because Mr. Dickson next door cannot possibly be human. We know that if we could just wish hard enough…anything is possible.

Fast forward almost twenty years later to PTO meetings, school fundraisers, Cub Scout campouts, and the daily grind of a 9-5 job. If you are lucky amid all your busy schedule, life might allow you a moment of perfect clarity and the realization that eventually this will end and you will die.
Depressing, right?

But thats not the worst thing.  More awful than that is before you do…you might be old and look back on your life and…what? Be completely without regret? I hope so.

Do not let life kill your belief.  Do not give up on trying to accomplish your dreams.

Take to heart the immortal words of that awesome 80’s rock band, Journey:

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’.

So make that wish when you blow out a candle, spot a shooting star, find a four-leaf clover, or throw a penny into a fountain.
Because anything is possible…if only you believe.

  1. Thank you! I needed that right about now. Yes, like magic fairy dust. It won't work unless you believe it does. Great post! I've had a rough day and you cheered me with this.:)

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
