Falling Forward

I hope everyone remembered to set their clocks forward this weekend for Daylight Savings Time. Except for you peeps in Arizona and Hawaii, because honestly…you’re getting enough sun already, right?

Which started me musing on how for everything we lose, we usually gain something in its place (you may have to search for it). We lose an hour of time but we gain more daylight. We may have to lose characters we love in early manuscripts and move on to new ones but we gain valuable experience.

If we look at each loss as an opportunity for growth and gain, each failure as another step towards success, then you won’t just be falling forward…you’ll be sprinting.

And that’s about all the positivity I can manage on a rainy Monday.

Just Remember:

  1. I didn't change my clock yesterday. I was supposed to meet a friend for coffee at 10:30. Yeah. She had to call me like, Where are you?

    DOH!

This time change is killing me!

  2. I laughed so hard at your comment on my blog. Funny Kristen Stewart didn't make my cut either. I mostly make my cut each and every time for the MC of the book I'm about to read. I usually have the casting well in place ahead of time. =)

  3. I'm weirdly sensitive to time changes. I just don't adjust very quickly. I lost an hour this weekend (as did everybody else) but I swear it feels like 5 hours.

I'm liking the extra daylight in the evening, though. Can't whine about that.

  4. :) Loved the picture! And yeah, I understand what you're talking about - losing is sometimes bad, but sometimes it's not. Sometimes you get something better in return. :D
And daylights savings time TOTALLY screwed me over, just saying. :) But it's all good now, I'm back to normal!

  5. I love starting on a new manuscript. The possibilities...getting to create new characters. It's not really hard for me to let go of the old ones. Usually by the end of a book I'm ready for it to be over! But yeah, I think back on the book and characters fondly later.

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
