It is courtesy of Madeleine Maddocks over at Scribble and Edit.

There's more but now I'm tired and wondering if I am a little too obsessed with King?  Can such a thing be possible?

What is your favorite novel turned movie?

  1. Have you ever read anything by Stephen King? A lot of his stuff gets made into movies. :PPP

Good picks. Looking forward to the other posts. :)

  2. I love your sarcasm badge. May just snag that for myself. ;)
How could I forget The Outsiders??? one of my fave books as a teen. There have been so many I've remembered just by visiting others' posts.
    Nice to meet you! :)

  3. Noone can be too obsessed with Sir Steven. Although, if I were you, I'd make a point of staying off his front lawn for a few months. This list would go a long way in court.

  4. Hi,

Fab list, but I'd be forced to bin Stephen King's. I read one and hated it. Didn't like his writer voice/style and the plot seemed too contrived for gross impact! ;)

  5. You must stay obsessed with King because I don't want to be stalking him alone!

I actually think most of the King book made into movies turned out okay (not all, but most). Shawshank, of course, but also the Green Mile, Stand By Me, Carrie, Misery, The Mist, and Christine. HATED the movie version of IT. Hated. As well as the movie version of Pet Sematary. The movies totally cheesed up the stories.

And okay, at the risk of getting egged, I'm liking the Twilight movies a lot better than the books.

  6. Cujo freaked me out. lol Great list. I've read very few King novels, but look forward to the Dark Tower movie.

  7. I'm not sure if you're obsessed with Stephen King or not. ;) My favorite book adaptation is probably "The Princess Bride" movie. I'll have my full blogfest list up in a bit.

If you get a chance, check out a fellow writer's zombie story and help me make him wear an embarrassing shirt next year! It's the ultimate grudge match between social media and the zombies. Details are here:

  8. Most impressive list. Thanks for taking part. I've seen some of these but not read many of yours. I like to read Dolores Claiborne. I've nbot heard of Flowers in the attic. :O)

  9. Maybe they'll turn On Writing into a movie...

  10. Well, Stephen King IS Stephen King. I think we're all a little bit obsessed. :) But I'd say my favorite is Lord of the Rings, simply because - while I still prefer the books - the movies did the story as must justice as a movie possibly could. :)

  11. Wow, quite a list! And a lot of Stephen King. I'm kind of a wuss (is that how you spell it?!) when it comes to horror of any kind, so there aren't nearly as many Stephen Kings on my list!

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
