We are trying to cope. Why did it have to be a Monday too? The horror.
But this poem sort of makes me feel better. I can't speak for the kids though.
On the Other Side of the Door
On the Other Side of the Door
I can be a different me,
As smart and as brave and as funny or strong
As a person could want to be.
There's nothing too hard for me to do,
There's no place I can't explore
Because everything can happen
On the other side of the door.
On the other side of the door
I don't have to go alone.
If you come, too, we can sail tall ships
And fly where the wind has flown.
And wherever we go, it is almost sure
We'll find what we're looking for
Because everything can happen
On the other side of the door.

Happy Monday.
This poem makes me miss school. My life needs a lot more naps and a lot more goldfish snack crackers.
ReplyDeleteMy kid has been back for a week now. The worst part is he has to be there at seven! Which means I have to be up WAY too early for my comfort level to make sure HE'S up and ready to go. Blah. But I like the poem. And I do love putting the notion in kids' heads that they can grow up to be anything they want to be if they're willing to dream it and work for it. :))
ReplyDeleteBritish schools NEVER go back on a Monday. I remember one weird year when I went back on a Friday! I've got my kids for another week and a bit.
