Insecure Writers-Feeling Small

Sometimes I feel small and insignificant.

Like the pool of my life is the size of a belly button.

Or I'm trying to use an umbrella to fend off a tsunami.

Sometimes I am overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of what I am trying to accomplish.

And feel like I'm not brave enough.

Or that my voice is just getting lost in the crowd.

But then I remember that great things can be accomplished if I work hard...

And refuse to give up.

  1. Yeah, that's what I was trying to say about getting lost as an author in all those books that are already out there on the shelves -- only you said it better and with cool pics. :)

I really think the best we can do is work our asses off to write the best novel we can, one other people want to read, and go from there.

And eek! that photo of the cliffside is giving me heart palpitations.

  5. That's right - can't accomplish anything if you don't try!

  7. While I absolutely agree with you, I just want to add that kissing in the rain is never that fun. It's wet, and clammy, and cold, and I feel like The Notebook lied to me. Yeah, I said it.

    1. It's only that way because you were not kissing Ryan Gosling!

  9. OMG, what fun! I love the pictures and the captions. Every single one was so true, so beautiful, and so easy to identify with -- we've all felt that way at some point.
I love your expressionism. Great post! :-D

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
