Friday Flashbacks

The year is 2000 BC.

Our Mayans ancestors were still carving symbols into stone but they were working on a alphabet system and advancing in many other ways during this period.

They discovered how to grow corn and proceeded to make this a dietary staple.







They moved farther away from hunting for meat to farming in larger settlements.  They focused on pottery and architecture.  They built this:

You don't really want to know what went on in there.

And they crafted this:











Which is a depiction of my sister's husband...obviously.

Weird trivial fact: Infants would have objects dangled in front of their eyes in order to permanently cross them because this was considered a sign of great physical beauty.
How's that for a fashion trend?

And you hated bellbottoms.

  3. It's fashionable for girls to walk with their toes facing inwards here! Fine by me, since my left foot does that all on its own.
