Tuesday's Take: Winning and Family

I was the unbelievably lucky winner of The Roecker Extravaganza Package over at Lisa and Laura Write.  These two may be the funniest, most generous, and talented pair like...EVER.  Their YA novel Liar Society will explode on bookshelves everywhere in the spring of 2011.  The contest celebrated achieving 500 followers and consisted of an arm wrestling match between them.  I called the winner, all hail Laura!!  Ok, really I got two votes and I voted for each one once, but how could I choose?  They may look nice but I think under that smiling facade lurks the hearts of warriors.

I received my box yesterday and I cannot tell you how excited I was.  I may have squealed...and I do...not...squeal.

Writery business cards from the brilliant mind of Stacey(youngest, also supremely talented, maybe only slightly less insane sister) Wine, Twizzlers, Glee Soundtracks and in case you didn't catch that the first time...

Oh, yeah.  So if you happen to win one of these t-shirts in the future...just remember who had the first one...Me.

Now how to incorporate my new fav shirt into my office wardrobe?  Hmmmm...what would Stacey do?

Now that's perfect.  Like Superman, SpiderMan, and other superheroes...I shall wear my Roecker-Writer identity under the clothes of my mild mannered alter ego...except for laundry day.

With all that excitement it was only a matter of time before I crashed.

What?  You mean you don't have a red cowboy hat that you pull out for special occasions?  Hello????  I promise to be back to my usual moody, sarcastic self tomorrow but today is all about gushy, sloppy excitement.
So this is the story of my winning a contest and an extended family of awesome, talented, funny, and soon to be extremely famous sisters.

Winning: I like it...a lot.
Bloggy friends who I have never met becoming family: I like it even more.

And that's my take on it.

Note: Special thanks to my son who took these pictures because my husband was at work.  I promise to provide therapy if you should need it but I still think there is a fat button on that camera and you kept using it!

  2. AHHH! This is the BEST! I'm so glad the prosecco arrived in one piece. I told Lisa that I might go to jail if it ended up exploding--you know the whole, "Are there any liquid, fragiles or perishables?" question? Yeah. Anyways, so glad you liked the prize package--the shirt can be washed (I've been told) and we're happy to have you as one of us! Welcome to the family, Marsha!
