Friday Flashback: Vamps Loved and Lost

Before the double hotness of the Salvatore Brothers was a gleam in some producer's eye,


Before HBO invited the southern delights of Bill and Eric through our door,
Before Josh Whedon created the awesomeness that was Angel and Spike,


Die hard vamp fans loved this man:

Ben Cross as Barnabas Collins in Dark Shadows.

This series ran for a short time in the early 90's and was actually a remake of an earlier 70's show by the same name.  It tapped the love of the dark side in all of us, making us sympathize with the villain, feel his pain and want to save him.  Thereby opening the door for the sexy, tormented leading men that came after.

There is a rumor that one of the shows biggest fans, Johnny Depp, may collaborate with Tim Burton in a remake of Dark Shadows.


Johnny Depp + Vampire= More Awesomeness than we can stand.
We loves you so much, Johnny, we would share our eyeliner with you any day.


To all the vamps we've loved before...the memory of you will live forever.

    I've never seen this, but it was actually the topic of a folk song at home! Imagine that, being in a Caribbean folk song.

    I love Johnny Depp! And I'm really missing the Salvatore brothers this summer. But True Blood starts next weekend. YAY!! :)
