Hello?

I'm still here and I suppose if you are reading this then so are you.  The world did not end.

And this guy was more surprised than anyone.

Except for maybe this guy:

This incident did spark a lot of conversation regarding religion and I'm all for that.  Open and honest dialogue is always healthy and if there's one thing I drill into my kids it is to question, question, question.  (And that The Daily Show is not a real news source but that's a whole other blog post.)

Don't blindly follow because it's too difficult to hear the truth.  Make sure you know who's leading.

Have a happy Monday and may you all live to be a hundred like my grandma.

Ok, it's not really my grandma but I sort of wish it was.

  1. I totally agree! If people just read the Bible for themselves they would clearly see that in there it states that NO ONE will know when the world will end :o) They'll also read that there's no such thing as the 'rapture' in the Bible - that's a concept made up my man. Oh, so tiring!

  2. Yep, still here.

I clicked on the link. It's sad that people were counting on this thing happening. This world is beautiful if they'd only open their eyes.

    And happy 100 years!

  3. Grandmas are cool!

The conversations have definitely been interesting. Open discussion is always a good thing.

  4. It has been interesting, and I agree - blind faith is dangerous.
Also... The Daily Show may not be real news... *COUGH* but it is... you know.. kinda funny. :)
Actually, believe it or not, The Daily Show is doing what no other news show is - getting kids interested in news. I mean, it may not be perfectly reliable, but I know when I watch it, if I hear something interesting, I go and look it up. Also...

shows that people who watch the daily show are better informed than those who watch real news stations. I wouldn't say the Daily Show is a fantastic truthfromthemouthofGod machine, but I would say it's better than political ignorance.

... wow. Sorry! If that sounded like a rant, it isn't, just a very well prepared and practiced defense for me watching a comedy show for hours every week. :D

  5. Oh man, I heard on the news some of the followers are going to try to sue that guy. Ya know, since they quit their jobs and spent all their money. Eeep. Not good.

  6. Still here. And, oh man, I can't believe that woman is lighting a cigarette off her 100th birthday cake candles. That is wrong on so many levels.

  8. Where do you get these pics? lol.

The thing I never got about the ppl fussing over the end of the world is what they thought fussing was goign to do.

If the world was ending, fussing wouldn't stop it. And if it wasn't, why waste time fussing?

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
