Time Change-Time Loss

This weekend we set our clocks forward by one hour, just another small loss in the grand scheme of things. I love this time of year but it is a reminder that time passes quickly and we should not waste a second of it.

I am doing what I love, and taking the time to pursue my dreams. I do not want to have regrets when it is too late to do anything about it. Is the destination of our lives the most important part? Or is it the journey that brings us there?

Time is a tricky thing. Just yesterday I was nineteen with all the time in the world. The days drifted slowly then, unlike today when they speed by like a racecar on an endless loop.

Don’t get caught up in the routine of your life, make time to pursue your dreams. You may find the pursuit is almost as satisfying as reaching the finish line.

  1. I love this time of year, but whoever decided that we should set clocks forward and that it should happen on a weekend needs to be punished! Seriously!

  2. You're right. A friend who recently got a book deal told me as exciting as the book deal is, we have to genuinely love the journey, the writing we do every day, as we work toward our goals. She feels a lot of the meaning is in the work itself.

Great reminder. Thanks, Marsha. :) My bloggy friend Molly Hall ("Writer Mama Dreamer") did a nice post about following our dreams today, too.

  3. I hope I get to the finish line one day and say yes the pursuit/climb was just as fantastic. Right now my muscles are cramping, I'm losing endurance and I'm growing mighty impatient. I wonder if I do get to the finish line if what I'll really say was that climb sucked, I'm so glad to be here. ;)

  4. Yes, I don't like this fake, time change stuff. But I agree with you - enjoy the journey. Time, no matter how we arbitrarily cut it, is fleeting.

It's often been said, It's not the things you did that you regret on your deathbed - it's the things you didn't do.

    So,let's do! Great post!

I love my journey because every day it's something new and sparkly. It keeps me very entertained.
