Tuesday’s Take: I Hate Hiatus’ and Oprah OWNS the World.

I hate it when my favorite shows take a hiatus. Just when we need them the most, with the pressure of upcoming holidays and our children changing their minds on what they want for Christmas almost daily, they take a break. I could use a dose of Damon…

or the Brothers Winchester…

or even these guys:

But instead I am reduced to watching this:

Which is sort of interesting and slightly gross. But what do I find out as I am watching? Discovery Health is morphing into something called OWN starting Jan. 1st. OWN stands for the Oprah Winfrey Network. I think the name is a little prophetic. One day Oprah Winfrey could OWN the world.

This might not be so bad…as long as I don’t have to deal with this guy:

I’m so over you, Dr. Phil. Stop calling me for advice.

  1. I love me some Winchester brothers! Is it just me or do they get hotter each season? I'm a Dean girl this season. All the way. Maybe my standards are too high, but I like my men to have a soul. =)

  2. LOL. I'm with you, could they pick a WORSE time to relegate us to a bunch of boring reruns? I think not. :)

  3. I'm right there with you guys...this time of year sucks for TV! And I must say...how hot is that pic of Vampire Diaries? I mean, wow.

  4. I know what you mean! I just bought the 3rd season of Mad Men so I'll have something to watch when everything goes into reruns.

  5. Hahaha. That was Oprah's plan for her retirement. Drop the show, run the world. My sister worked for Harpo/Oprah until earlier this year. Everything pretty much shifted all around because the show was going off the air and her job was changing, so she went to work for a company that specializes in marketing via social networking.

It helps to know I'm not just talking to myself.
